If your tax situation requires you to use Form 1040A please visit us at my1040A.com. Form 1040 can be filled out at Express1040.com.

You CAN use my1040EZ.com to prepare your 1040EZ tax return if all of the following requirements are met:

  • Your use either "married filing jointly" or "single" as your filing status.
  • You do not claim any dependents (children, elderly parents, etc.).
  • You do not claim any adjustments to income such as student loan interest, educator expenses, or the tuition and fees deduction.
  • The only tax credits you can claim are the earned income credit or making work pay credit.
  • You and your spouse are younger than 65, and not blind.
  • Your taxable income must be less than $100,000.
  • Your only income is from wages, salaries, unemployment compensation, interest income, taxable scholarships or fellowship grants, or Alaska Permanent Fund dividends. Your taxable interest income must not be over $1,500.
  • If you earned tips, they are included in boxes 5 and 7 of your Form W-2.
  • You did not receive any advance earned income credit (EIC) payments.

You CANNOT use my1040EZ.com if you do not meet all of the above conditions. Common situations that would NOT allow you to use my1040EZ.com include the following:

  • You itemize your deductions.
  • You are eligible to deduct moving expenses, alimony payments, or student loan interest.
  • You had dividends, rental income, self-employment income, or capital gains.
